We had so much fun seeing everyone's pumpkin creations last year, we decided to host another Pumpkin Carving Contest this year!
Submissions are open from October 20th to October 30th. On Halloween, October 31st, we will post all entries to be voted on by our Facebook followers. The photo with the most likes will be the winner!

Our story began in 1970, with a father and son, on a dairy farm in Fair Haven, VT. Robert Wood received a call from a local customer requesting bagged ice to sell in their establishment. Robert purchased a restaurant ice maker, and delivered 100 bags to the loyal customer. He received a phone call the next morning for more. Robert’s son, David Wood, continues the family legacy alongside his daughter, serving as the company’s Owner, President, and CEO.
The first manufacturing plant was located on Smith Street in Whitehall, NY, from 1970 until 1983, when the company purchased a 10 acre lot on Route 4 in Whitehall. Today, the facility manufactures over 3 million bags each year, delivering ice across regions of New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts. The company has expanded to refrigerated trailer rentals, and ice blocks for carving sculptures, as well as connecting customers with a skilled local Ice Carver.
David Wood
David Wood worked with his father for the family business, Maplewood Dairy in Vermont, from a young age. After graduating from Fair Haven High School in 1969, he worked hard to help build the ice business. He continued his education and attended Castleton State College during that time, graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor’s Deg

When he is not driving truck for business, he enjoys hunting, traveling, and spending time with his 3 dogs; Moose, Ike, and Bear.satisfaction and providing the best ice products available.

Paige Foote (Wood) began working in the office answering phones, and selling bags for retail at just 12 years old. She graduated Whitehall Central School in 2010, and attended University at Albany, where she followed in her father’s footsteps, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 2014. She met her husband, James

Paige Foote (Wood) began working in the office answering phones, and selling bags for retail at just 12 years old. She graduated Whitehall Central School in 2010, and attended University at Albany, where she followed in her father’s footsteps, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 2014. She met her husband, James (Plant Manager), at Maplewood Ice, where they work hand in hand to this day. The couple has a set of 4-year-old twins, Maxine and Warren, and a 13-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Addison.
